Situated at the western end of Antalya and being a central district, Konyaaltı shares borders with Kemer to the south, Döşemealtı to the north, and Korkuteli to the northwest.
Konyaaltı History: Konyaaltı has a rich history dating back to the Lycian Period. Previously known as Olbia, the region extended from Arapsuyu to Boğaçayı.
There are two theories regarding the origin of the present name “Konyaaltı.” One suggests that during the Ottoman Period, travelers arriving from Konya referred to this coastal area as “Konyaaltı,” meaning “we are below Konya.” The other theory claims that the name “Koyaltı” was initially used due to Antalya’s location on cliffs, which eventually transformed into “Konyaaltı” over time.
