Following Ramadan, a new sign system will be implemented for authorized real estate agencies. According to Akçam, President of the All Real Estate Consultants Association (TEDB), the “E” sign will become mandatory to prevent fraud and ensure institutionalization in the real estate market.
Pilot Program Begins in Ankara
The new system will be implemented first in Ankara. There are 142,000 real estate agents in Turkey, and 8,500 in Ankara. These signs, which will be hung at the entrances of licensed real estate agencies, will be 50×50 cm and feature a white “E” within a red frame.
QR Code Signs for Reliable Real Estate
The real estate agency’s property trading authorization number will be displayed in the bottom corner of the signs. Additionally, the QR code will direct citizens directly to the Ministry of Commerce’s website, where they can access detailed information about real estate agents. This system aims to eliminate untrustworthy real estate agents from the industry and prevent fraud.
Working Without an Authorization Certificate is Impossible
Real estate agents will be required to obtain an authorization certificate to use signage. The requirements for those seeking an authorization certificate are as follows:
- A minimum of 6 months of internship is required for associate, undergraduate, or graduates, and a minimum of 12 months for other candidates.
- Those who complete the internship must obtain a tax certificate and register with a professional chamber.
- Those who complete a Level 5 professional qualification certificate and online training can apply for an authorization certificate through the Ministry of Commerce’s website.
- Working in the real estate market without an authorization certificate will be prohibited.
This new regulation aims to make the real estate market more reliable and transparent.
